In the 1950s, medical care in Xindian was a distant luxury.

Caught between the coal mines, sudden accidents, and the heartbreak of being "too late," Lin Shiou-Ching and Lin-Tsai Mei-Yu — owners of the Hemei Coal Mine who deeply cared for their workers — decided to build a hospital on Guangming Street.

With Dr. Chen Chang-ti saving lives at the threshold of life and death, and his wife, Chen-Ling Tsai-Wei, anchoring the daily operations, this hospital didn't just exist—it endured.

Because of them, many were given a chance to live. They wrote the history of this city, allowing our story to continue.
